Building Regulations Update

Written by Titon | Jan 26, 2021 10:08:00 AM

The Building Regulations for England and Wales, covering Energy Efficiency and Ventilation, within the Future Homes Standard legislation are currently under consultation ahead of an imminent revision. There has been some movement on these in the last few days.

We have been – and will be – consulting on these documents, both independently and via trade associations. The documents are different for England and Wales governments, so we will be providing clear information helping you to keep track of their legislative progress.

The Welsh consultation documents for existing buildings have recently been published. The consultation process for the documents for England are at different stages for new build and refurbishment (existing buildings).

The (English) Government has published their Future New Homes Standard and ADF and L consultation responses and the expected outcomes for new build, this is a guide on how it will turn out but, as we know from past experience, isn’t 100% guaranteed. The consultation period for ADF and L existing buildings will end in April and then we wait for publication.

The timescale is set so that the finished documents should be published by all parties later in 2021, with probable effective date in June 2022.

As soon as we have something concrete, we will update our website and social media channels.
