The Titon Advantage: AREA24 Ensures Rigorous Testing of Titon Designed and Developed Products
In the competitive world of manufacturing, ensuring the highest quality of products is paramount. Titon, a leading manufacturer of ventilation and window hardware solutions, takes this commitment to quality seriously.
One of the key pillars of their quality assurance process is the rigorous testing that all products undergo before reaching our customers. At the heart of this testing process lies ‘Titon’s AREA24,’ a state-of-the-art testing facility based at their factory in Haverhill, Suffolk. Let’s delve into how Titon maintains its impeccable standards and meets its commitment to excellence.
Titon’s AREA24: Where Excellence Meets Innovation
AREA24, Titon’s cutting-edge testing facility, is a testament to the company’s dedication to quality assurance. Situated at their factory site in Suffolk, a team of skilled engineers led by Robin Gardiner, Titon’s Head of Product Development, oversees an array of stringent tests to assess the performance, safety, and durability of components and systems.
Outside of the UK, Titon’s bought-in hardware products are managed by Alan Kan, Titon’s Far East Product Engineering Manager, who bridges the gap between Titon and its international supply chain.
Alan, who plays a pivotal role in Titon’s commitment to quality, provides a robust link between Technical and Procurement to a number of specially selected overseas suppliers. His expertise ensures that products are manufactured to Titon’s high specification at the start of the manufacturing process and again at the end. Alan Kan states, “Our goal is to make sure that every product that bears the Titon name is not just good but outstanding. We take into account the unique needs of different markets, and our rigorous testing protocols reflect that commitment.”
Robin Gardiner’s Insight: A Focus on Quality
Robin Gardiner, Titon’s Head of Product Development for Window & Door Hardware, provides insight into the meticulous testing processes that products undergo in Titon’s AREA24. “At Titon, we believe that quality is not an option; it’s a requirement,” he says. “Before any product is deemed ready for the UK market, it must pass through our comprehensive testing procedures in AREA24 here in the UK. This ensures that our customers receive products that meet Titon’s high standards of performance and reliability.”
Robin further emphasised the importance of testing, stating, “AREA24 is our fortress of quality control, where we subject every product to a battery of tests to ensure they meet our high standards. This not only safeguards the quality of our products but also reinforces our commitment to our customers.”
The Testing Strategy
Titon’s testing process in AREA24 is a multi-step procedure designed to scrutinise every aspect of the bought-in products. It includes:
- Performance Testing: Products undergo rigorous testing to evaluate their functionality and efficiency under various conditions. These tests ensure that the products meet or exceed industry standards.
- Durability Testing: Titon products are subjected to extensive durability tests to ensure they can withstand the test of time. By continually testing for durability, it not only gives us the confidence in our products today but also can help identify areas that may require attention in the future.
- Accelerated Corrosion Testing: Area 24’s Neutral Salt Spray Testing climate chamber allows us to rapidly test the performance of our product finishes.
- Safety Testing: Safety is paramount. Titon products are thoroughly evaluated for compliance with standards to protect users.
The Titon Advantage
The stringent testing in AREA24 gives Titon a competitive edge in the industry. By ensuring the quality of bought-in products, Titon can confidently pass on reliable products and components to its suppliers and ultimately to its customers.
