Titon has announced a significant investment in its in-house testing facilities with the addition of a state-of-the-art UV weathering chamber at its manufacturing plant.
The new chamber will allow Titon to simulate long-term exposure of materials and products to ultraviolet (UV) light, heat and moisture, replicating the natural weathering process in accelerated conditions. This capability will enable the company to assess durability, longevity and performance of its products with even greater precision.
“This investment is about ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability,” said Robin Gardiner, Head of Product Development for Window and Door Hardware at Titon. “By expanding our testing capacity with advanced UV weathering technology, we can better predict how our materials and finishes will perform over time, giving our customers complete confidence in their durability.”
The chamber will be used across a wide range of Titon’s product lines ensuring that finishes, coatings and plastics can withstand years of real-world use. The move also supports the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and compliance with both UK and international standards.
Titon’s advanced testing facility already conducts rigorous assessments, including mechanical performance, corrosion resistance and air-tightness. The testing programme also supports Titon’s 10-year warranty by addressing common failure modes associated with poor process control including embrittlement, warping and discolouration, while also validating material selection and performance.
This focused approach helps ensure products continue to perform reliably in real-world conditions throughout their service life and highlights the company’s long-term strategy to remain at the forefront of the industry.
